Hike Los Padres National Forest
I wanted to share with you just some of my three favorite Santa Barbara & Goleta trails located in Los Padres National Forest.
Gaviota Peak
Length of hike: about 6.5 miles.
Total hiking time: about 3-4 hours.
Elevation Gain: 2000 ft
This trail gives you the energy and the feeling of freedom you might need after a long weekend at the office. Even thought is 6 miles hike, it feels like a walk to the park (not really). Bring enough water and some snacks. If you feel hungry after the hike, I recommend you visit the Canyon Market and Deli.

Gibraltar Dam
Length of hike: 5.18 miles
Total hiking time: about 2-3 hours.
Elevation Gain: -623 ft
Moderate to Moderately Strenuous
I really had mix feelings about this trail because the at the beginning we had to walk a trail of loose rocks. But then, the view got better and it was all worth it! I would recommend you bring hiking boots to be able to walk on the rocks.

EL Capitan
Length of hike: 0.35 miles
Total hiking time: about 20 - 30 min.
Elevation Gain: -623 ft
Super relaxing and easy hike.
As for this trail, even thought is short and easy it has the most beautiful view. I enjoy this trail because you get both sides of Santa Barbara, mountains and ocean. Please be aware that you might hike on the camping area.
